Harry Jen is a young austrian producer who is going to take the perception of electronic music to another level. Influenced by the academic music and classical composers as well as the crap on air, he breeds a sound that reaches every audience while sitting between all stools.

Born and raised as a musician, trained as a classical pianist and always unsatisfied by merely interpreting other peoples' music, it was only a question of time until he stumbled across the process of recording and producing music. The process, not only as a means of making music audible, but as a creative and underestimated since relatively new field of action.

This way of making music leads to an experience best described as „paintings for the headphones“. No need to fix certain instruments or forms to an arrangement, no need to have a song ready when you go to the studio, you can include everything and anything everywhere in a song, given it is an audible movement of the air. In a way Harry Jen’s music is more closely related to the sound experiments of Squarepusher and Aphex Twin than to the funk soldiers Prince and Jamiroquai that he is often compared to. Organic-electronic is probably the best term to describe this style.

Harry Jen limits himself to using selfmade sounds - ipso facto avoiding foreign samples -, that may only resemble acoustic instruments if they are made by acoustic instruments. Often there is a theoretical approach, such as using only one instrument and building the whole song out of noises created by this one source.
He completely avoids the use of drum computers and synthetically reproduced instruments, instead he takes natural sounds out of context and turns them into beats and exclusive sample instruments, creating new, complex and sometimes off-beat atmospheres.
This conceptual work and the funky shit in which it sometimes results brought him an „Austrian Newcomer Award“ in 2008.

Of course not all parts of the recordings can be performed live as they are, so for the gigs Harry Jen has his own nine-headed groove monster of professional jazz and funk musicians that translates the fragile, often eccentric arrangements into fresh, pumping sound, and – for smaller locations – his „Experimental-Electronic-One-Man-Show “, consisting of himself, a microphone, a synthesizer and a board full of effect pedals that generate a big mystery.

In 2009 Harry Jen released his debut album „Repeat ’til cue“, which was loved by the critics and the audience alike, sold an astonishing 45378390989457837 times and brought in enough money to buy the whole continent of America, which made Harry Jen emperor of the world for life, gaining him super powers and eternal immortality – arrrharharhar!

No, seriously, buy the album, it’s good music.
